VOCC - Lived Experience Program

Victims of Crime Commissioner's Office: Lived Experience Program Opportunities

The Victims of Crime Commissioner (VOCC) is establishing a new program to embed victims' lived experience expertise in their work. The Commissioner is now calling for people with diverse lived experience as a victim of crime to express their interest in joining the program.

The Lived Experience Program includes two groups:

- VOCC Lived Experience Advisory Group - a small group who meet regularly to discuss priority issues. Intake for this group is open and will close on 19 May 2024.

- VOCC Lived Experience Experts Network - a group of community members who can provide feedback, advice and input on key issues and topics affecting victims of crime in a more flexible manner. You can join the network at any time. You will receive emails about opportunities to help the VOCC with their work and can choose which activities you take part in.

The VOCC is particularly keen to hear from a range of voices including Aboriginal people, people with disability, from multicultural and multifaith backgrounds, and from the LGBTIQA+ community - people who are more likely to have been targeted as victims of crime and are less likely to report.

More information about the VOCC Lived Experience Program is available on the VOCC website: Victim engagement | Victims of Crime Commissioner
