Koori List Cultural Support Plan

The Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT) is working to strengthen the support it provides Koori
applicants and increase its engagement with their communities with the launch of the Dhumbumana Healing
Strategy.

As part of the strategy, VOCAT is introducing a formal process to ensure cultural information is considered
when an award of financial assistance is being made, to acknowledge that an applicant’s cultural journey
affects their ability to heal.
