Practice Direction 2 of 2023 - Engagement of Counsel to Assist Tribunal

Practice Direction 11 of 2008 has been revoked by the Chief Magistrate as of 4 April 2023.

Where Counsel is required to assist the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal, written approval must be sought from the Supervising Magistrate of VOCAT (or their nominee).

The Tribunal will not be responsible for any fees, costs or charges incurred for the engagement of counsel, unless the retainer or engagement is so authorised by the Supervising Magistrate of VOCAT (or their nominee).
