The new Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) will commence before 1 December 2024 and is replacing the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT). Further information regarding the new scheme, eligibility, and the amount of financial assistance available can be located at www.victimsofcrime.vic.gov.au/fas. The purpose of this Practice Direction is to specify the procedure to be followed in relation to claims for financial assistance for expenses yet to be incurred by an applicant.
